Cavities 101: Causes and Symptoms

Featured imageIf you experience a dull tooth ache, white, brown or dark spot on your tooth, it just may be a cavity.  Other symptoms include consistent throbbing and sensitivity to cold or hot foods and liquids.

Common causes are not brushing and flossing well enough, poor genetics, hypolasia (weak enamel).  It can also be caused by poor diet.  Try to avoid candy, sugar, ice cream, hot and very cold liquids.

Healthy habits can help fight these cavities.  Eating fresh fruits and vegetables along with daily brushing and flossing after meals may just prevent a root canal in the future and lead to a health smile.
